HOW BOT SKILL RATING WORKS
Every decision is graded. Your choice is compared with the best option, given the hands your opponents likely hold, and labelled like a chess move: Brilliant, Best, Excellent, Good, Inaccuracy, Mistake or Blunder.
Each match scores you against every bot: 60% finishing place, 40% decision accuracy.
Glicko-2 updates the ratings. Beating higher-rated bots is worth more. RD is the rating uncertainty, calculated behind the scenes.
Bot games never change Ranked Elo. Leaving a match early leaves it unrated.

What RIVL collects
When you create an account, RIVL stores your chosen display name and a securely hashed version of your private sign-in code to recognize your account. We also store ranked match results, ratings, and information needed to run multiplayer rooms. Your browser may store your sign-in code, game preferences, and bot-practice statistics locally on your device.
How we use information
We use this information to provide accounts, multiplayer games, rankings, and the leaderboard, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain the service. Your display name, Elo rating, and certain match statistics may be visible to other players.
Hosting and technical information
RIVL is hosted on Cloudflare. Like other web hosting providers, Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses, request details, and security signals when delivering and protecting the site. Cloudflare's own policies apply to its processing.
Sharing and retention
We do not offer real-money wagering. We do not intentionally sell player information. Account and match records may remain stored while the service operates; retention and deletion procedures are being finalized for launch. We may share information when legally required or necessary to protect the service.
Your choices
You can play bot practice without an online account. You can sign out and clear locally stored browser data. For account or privacy questions, use the Support tab. Do not share your private sign-in code in bug reports.
Children and policy updates
RIVL is not intended for children under 13. We may update this policy as features and service providers change. Material changes will be reflected here.
Before public launch: The RIVL operators should confirm the contact address, applicable age requirements, retention practices, and any analytics or advertising providers, then replace this draft with an approved policy.
